An upscale Cantonese Asian fusion restaurant in Hyde Park is closing after more than 47 years in business, the restaurant announced the day after Christmas.
China Gourmet, located at 3340 Erie Ave., shared the news in a Facebook post Thursday morning. The restaurant, which featured fresh seafood delivered daily and live jazz music, will be hosting its final dinner service on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
“Our CG family is very strong and will be missed. On behalf of our CG crew, we thank you for the lifetime of memories,” the restaurant stated in the social media post.
The Hyde Park restaurant’s closure arrives on the heels of dozens of other Greater Cincinnati restaurants that closed in 2024. At least five of those, including China Gourmet, came in December, signaling a tough time for all of our restaurants in the new year.
