Kimmarie Johnson, ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ Actress and Former Miss Pennsylvania USA, Dies at 50

Posted on November 6, 2026

Before Kimmarie Johnson appeared on television, she stepped onto a pageant stage with little experience and left with a crown. That unexpected win helped set her on a path from Pennsylvania to modeling and acting in Los Angeles.

Johnson, who appeared in Beverly Hills, 90210, died on November 4 at age 50. Her niece, Rhonda Scott, said Johnson experienced a heart-related emergency at her Los Angeles home on October 27 and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Scott said doctors described her condition as a “heart aneurysm.” An official cause of death has not been announced.

An unexpected pageant victory

Johnson won the Miss Pennsylvania USA title in 1992, despite having no previous pageant experience. The victory gave her the chance to represent Pennsylvania at the 1993 Miss USA competition, where she reached the top six.

She later moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling and acting. Her television debut included a 1998 appearance on Beverly Hills, 90210, where she played Judy. That same year, she appeared in Troy Byer’s film Let’s Talk About Sex.

From acting to skincare

Johnson continued working across television and film. Her credits included V.I.P., Wanda at Large, Dude, Where’s My Car?, Shadow Fury, Spanish Fly, Break a Leg, and Tucker’s War.

She also explored opportunities outside entertainment, working as a model and producer before launching her skincare business, SkinGlow by Kimmarie.

In 2003, Johnson became a mother to her son, Cameron Nino. She took time away from acting to focus on raising him, while continuing to pursue other interests.

Family remembers her warmth

Scott said Johnson brought positivity to people she met and will be greatly missed. The family plans to hold a memorial after the holidays and has invited friends and fans to share memories and photographs.

Johnson’s journey took her from a Pennsylvania pageant to television screens and business ownership. She is remembered by her loved ones for more than her work: her family says the light she brought to others will remain with them.

Rest in peace, Kimmarie Johnson.
